Other technologies to remove oil from produced water, reducing the oil content with very high efficiency (above 95%) until its saturation, may be perfomed in different steps, according to the quantity of oil to be removed, its density, particles, and to the required final performance (residual oil/water permitted for discharge or reuse).

TYPICAL WATER TREATMENT PROCESS

In water treatment plants, Discoil can do a first strong separation of the floating oil from water, that can be used to clean the water in tanks before CPI, or directly inside the CPI.

CPI (Corrugated Plates Interceptor) is very effective for the separation of low density oil and when the oil load is high, granting its gravity separation (above 90%). It can be designed as pressure vessel or atmospheric tank, in which lamella packs are inserted, providing a longer path for the oil droplets to travel to the top of the tank. The oil collected on the surface of water is skimmed and flows continuously by: DISCOIL (with high recovery capacity up to 98%, also in case of floating level) or by a turnable pipe (suitable for fixed level).

Solids are extracted from the bottom of the tank.

To improve the water treatment, above 95% of purification, secondary and tertiary treatments as the IAF / IGF (Induced Air / Gas Flotation) and NSF (Nut Shell Filters) can be added.
